Working closely with director René Butler, I reviewed website content across the site, refining language, correcting errors and improving clarity before publication.

Sean Allard Photography

Role: Writing web copy, editing

Sean Allard is a professional photographer whose work ranges from striking commercial imagery to intimate portraiture. I worked closely with Sean to develop and refine the copy for his website, ensuring it reflected both his professionalism and his approachable personality.

The project involved writing and refining web copy that complemented Sean's photography rather than competing with it. My aim was to create language that was clear, engaging and authentic, helping visitors understand Sean's vision while allowing his images to remain the focus.

This concept showcases my approach to automotive copywriting, created using original copy developed as part of my Copywriting Diploma (Distinction). Rather than reproducing the full piece, I have presented a short extract in a campaign-style format to demonstrate my writing style and how I adapt my voice to suit a recognised brand.

This portfolio piece presents an extract from original copy written as part of my Copywriting Diploma (Distinction). Inspired by the Stroke Association's tone and visual identity, it demonstrates my ability to write clear, compassionate content for the charity sector while adapting my style to suit the audience.

This Facebook campaign concept showcases my ability to adapt my writing style to an established brand voice. Created as part of my Copywriting Diploma (Distinction), it demonstrates how I tailor copy for social media—combining humour, personality and concise messaging to engage audiences while remaining true to Innocent's distinctive tone.

BBC Radio 4

Role: Writer

Writing for radio requires every word to earn its place. Alongside writer Sue Limb, I co-wrote two original comedy dramas for BBC Radio 4, transforming ideas into fully realised scripts through multiple drafts and close collaboration with the production team.

From shaping characters and dialogue to refining comic timing and narrative structure, the process demanded creativity, precision and a deep understanding of how stories come alive through sound alone.

English Language 1

Every student learns differently, so I tailor every lesson to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

This lesson, designed for an autistic learner, focuses on clarity, structure and confidence. By breaking complex writing skills into manageable steps, I help students build understanding without becoming overwhelmed. 

This student is now writing much more confidently and it's such a pleasure seeing her confidence developing.

English Language 2

This lesson was created for an iGCSE learner studying English as a second language. Using carefully chosen examples and guided comparison, it develops precision, vocabulary and sentence fluency while encouraging students to recognise the impact of strong writing choices for themselves.
Not only was he a delightful person, it was such a privilege seeing his confidence growing lesson by lesson. 

English Literature

Designed for an A Level student, this lesson explores how major literary themes echo across different texts. Through guided discussion, comparison and close analysis, students move beyond memorising quotations to developing confident, independent interpretations supported by evidence. 

My aim is always to make challenging literature feel accessible and enjoyable while encouraging curiosity and critical thinking. I genuinely love teaching Advanced Level English Literature and helping students appreciate just how fascinating it can be.

English Literature: Poetry

Written for an iGCSE English Literature student, this lesson explored how two poems could be compared through shared themes, language and imagery. We explored the possibilities and my student chose a clear line of argument before supporting it with close textual analysis.

When my student started work with me, he was fearful of poetry, but by the end, he absolutely adored it.  I hope my passion for poetry rubs off on my students. His understanding of nuance became quite astounding! 

English Literature

Sometimes I have to quickly learn books I haven't read before: it's incredibly enriching. I love teaching modern novels and comparing them with familiar texts.

This student was studying A-Level English Literature under the CCEA exam board. He had incredible ideas but found it difficult to articulate them succinctly. We worked hard so that, when the exams arrived, he was prepared to plan his arguments cleanly and purposefully.

English Literature: Chaucer

I struggled with Medieval Literature at school and, later, at Cambridge. Perhaps because of that, I was determined to enjoy teaching it! I did, and I discovered that teaching others made the text much more fascinating.

My student initially found Middle English and Chaucer's language daunting, so we explored the text slowly, discussing context, watched adaptations and returned to key passages until they became familiar.

By the end of the course, I hope he came to enjoy The Wife of Bath as much as I do.
